{"id":16489,"date":"2024-07-09T16:03:13","date_gmt":"2024-07-09T14:03:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.arepoquality.eu\/event\/origin-for-sustainability-international-conference-2024\/"},"modified":"2025-08-12T10:15:48","modified_gmt":"2025-08-12T08:15:48","slug":"origin-for-sustainability-international-conference-2024","status":"publish","type":"event","link":"https:\/\/www.arepoquality.eu\/fr\/event\/origin-for-sustainability-international-conference-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"Origin for Sustainability | International Conference 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As a platform for knowledge and multiple stakeholders, Origin for Sustainability organises <mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-green-color\">an international Forum each year with a renewed focus<\/mark>, bringing together participants from five continents over three days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 2024 international conference will be held at the <strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-green-color\">University of Parma<\/mark><\/strong> in Italy <strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-green-color\">from 20 to 22 November 2024<\/mark><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This year&rsquo;s theme will be:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-green-color\">The Role of Origin in the Sustainability of localised Food Systems<\/mark><br><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-green-color\"><strong>in particular, the role of circular economy in Geographical Indications<\/strong><\/mark><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The issue of sustainable food systems is gaining momentum, especially with COP28 unveiling ambitious strategies. Key focuses include nutrition, emission reduction, and adapting agricultural practices to enhance food production sustainably. Geographical indications play a significant role in this, showcasing strengths and spearheading various initiatives like energy conservation, waste recycling, promoting circular economy principles, and adopting agroecological practices. Innovations such as enhanced labelling and marketing strategies aim to raise consumer awareness and support sustainable production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">GIs are tools that are recognized to contribute to the economic welfare of their region of origin. They coexist with alternative options that boost the market access and the economic return to the local farmers and food producers.
